Our clients secured an impressive plot in Hale, with beautiful mature gardens. They wanted to build their dream family home that wouldn’t stand stark and disruptive against the more traditional homes in the neighbourhood, but equally wanted a contemporary aesthetic.
Using brick, and making use of pitched roofs at the front, softened the façade. While the projections in the roof nod to the nearby chimneys while actually acting as huge rooflights – bathing the interior with natural light. The roof of the dressing-room, for example, is made entirely of glass, offering privacy without compromising on light.
The rear of the building is often neglected and seen as less important by some architects – but it is actual the part of the exterior of your home you’ll sit and look at the most. At Harrop road, the rear is the truly sleek and contemporary home, with covered external space for outdoor entertaining
